Dalis uses her hand dyed wool roving, silk sari, silk ribbon, silk chiffon, lace and various yarns as she 'paints' her landscapes, which she calls Lambscapes. She starts with a wool felt base then layers on wool roving. Then the yarn, ribbons, silk and other embellishments start to take shape as they are placed on top of the roving. These are impressionistic paintings of landscapes that Dalis has visited or that surrounds where she lives.
'Montana Bluffs' is inspired by the many visits to Montana. Being raised in South Dakota, Dalis loved going hiking, camping, backpacking in Montana. On the way to the Rockies, the bluffs give a hint of what's to come.
